Paularino School Garden

The Paularino School Garden was established in 2005 by a caring group of parents and students.   Over the past few years it has grown to be a special place to visit. Not only do we have raise beds filled with various fruits and vegetables we have flowers and citrus trees to watch grow. The garden is the pride and joy not only of the students but the community as a whole.

Thank you goes out to many.......PTA, our wonderful volunteer Jean Wilson, Nutrition Services, The Healthy Kid Network, the staff and most importantly the students who do the work and enjoy tasting what they grow.

We are so happy to show you some photos of our Garden!

First Lady Maria Shriver Visits Paularino via Video Conference

As par

As part of the WE Garden program we did a video conference with First Lady Maria Shriver.  A long time champion of edible school gardens, First Lady Maria Shriver leads the effort to promote the creation of school and community gardens across California. Shriver has spearheaded the movement to plant a garden on the grounds of California’s State Capitol Park in Sacramento.

The purpose of this demonstration garden is to educate and inspire Californians about the important lessons gardens teach to students, children and people of all ages -- lessons rooted in nutrition, healthy living, agriculture, science, history and service.  The WE Garden in Capitol Park is a pilot program made possible through public and private partnerships with organizations dedicated to the value gardens have in communities.
